Favorite Musician: My favorite musician hands down is Frank Zappa, who does not fall into the genre specific genre categories of the Goat, but if you are a musician and you don't like Zappa then you are probably not very well versed in your craft.

Favorite Genre:  I grew up on Metal, love Hardcore, and have always tried to live by the Punk ethos....is that an answer?

Favorite Song:  This is a ridiculous question because how do you choose just one song? I mean Slayer, Hatebreed, Anthrax, Shadow's Fall, Motorhead...I couldn't even pick a favorite band let alone song. The songs I am rocking the most right now though is "Honor Never Dies" by Hatebreed and "Provoke" by Revolt45...both just awesome songs.

What I want next for The Goat: The Goat exists for one reason and one reason only...to connect unsigned/underground bands to fans in places that would otherwise have no exposure to them. Greg Duke and I are both musicians and have done the touring thing, hit the streets with flyers, scoured the internet to promote shows, slept on people's living room floors.....we lived the life and thought if there was a way we could help bands that play the kind of shit we are into, metal/hardcore/punk, then we have no choice but to do so. Basically, we are not promoters or a label, we are not trying to get a cut off the bands, we just love music and know that the difference between a great band in a garage and a great band out on the road touring is exposure. If you have shit that you want people to hear, we will put it out there and people can find it. The key to success in this venture is cross promotion, we promote the shit out of the bands and they promote the shit out of us to their fan base, which exposes each bands fans to a bunch of new bands and vice-versa. In all actuality The Goat is serving as a networking tool for bands and fans alike. There is a ton of awesome music out there and it deserves to be heard. I want to see that happen. And the fans in return get to find music that they actually like and not what the labels and corporate monsters are trying to force feed them. Being in a band and being a musician is not about being in competition with other bands and musicians, it is a community and can only survive if we prop each other up.

Favorite Musician: Frank Zappa is the inventor and chief proponent of conceptual continuity

Favorite Genre: Typically anything your parents don't like.

Favorite Song: Whatever the ice cream truck is playing. Seriously, I can't answer that.

What I want next for the goat: What I want from The Goat? I want The Goat to deliver a curbjob to the teeth of corporate radio. Brain Steele and I are musician's ourselves. Not another pair of suits and sunglasses. We have toiled in band after band, slept in van after van. We are not promoters, label men, or here to schmooze into your profits. We simply want great bands to be heard and given the same opportunity alloted to those with no talent and an auto-tune. Who the fuck cares how good you guys are if noone can hears it. The tree falls in the forest. You follow? Of course you do that is why you find yourself in the presence of The Goat. Help us help you. We must support eachother as this is a fight against the homogenization of the music we love. Our love for heavy music inherently creates a united front. Join the Revolution. Get in on the ground level or be leveled. Or put on your sisters's jeans and crank some Death cab and cut yourselves with plastic knives. The choice is yours. The Goat is waiting.

Favorite Musician: The Hives

Favorite Genre: Pre-1995 Punk

Favorite Song: Bohemian Rhapsody

What I want next for The Goat: My idea of internet radio is very simple. It's a radio that can be accessed by anyone at anytime, to play the music that they enjoy. That's it. So when I was presented with the idea of The Goat Radio I was hesitant. Not because of the idea, but because Metal is not something I have ever had to listen to. It never appealed to me. However, in the past few months, as I have been building this website, and producing the radio station, I have built up a love for hard-core metal. This is something I would not have said a few years ago. Growing up with "Gilman Street" Punk, I know what it's like to listen to underground bands that start out of no-where beginnings, and then sign on with major labels. This is why I like pre-1995 punk. Punk now is shit. Simply put. Mainstream, anyways. New musicians think they know what people want to hear, but they don't. Most mainstream punk musicians don't sound like they used to. They're trying to make corporate fat-cats happy so the money keeps flowing into their pockets. That's not music. That's selling out. That's what I want for The Goat. I want The Goat to help unheard of musicians get the recognition they deserve while still keeping with the traditional sound.
